Baby Bump Must Haves

Here I have Hue leggings on and a Maternity shirt by Three Seasons, which I found at a local department store.

This is what I have been wearing for the past 3 months or so. I found that leggings go with everything, so I bought them in a few neutral colors. They were comfortable for my growing belly, and I had enough room at the top to have them go over my bump. It worked out perfectly because for this season's fall/winter style, leggings/jeggings were in, something that I had never worn before I was pregnant. They are ideal to wear with winter boots, everyday shoes, or even with a dresser top.

One of my first maternity purchases was a few tops to accentuate my bump so I didn't look like I had a bit of a gut. They scrunched up on the sides to give you more stretch around your belly.

Both were inexpensive; the top $15.00, and leggings were an average of $6.00-$10.00. If they are feeling a little snug, you won't break the bank in investing in a larger size.

15week 5day Drs Visit

Here you are 15w 5d.
You are the size of a PEAR.

Visit to the Doctors

We got to hear the heartbeat. We have only seen it previously. Although we didn't do an ultrasound today, it was still reassuring, and Baby Fig's heartbeat was nice and strong.  I never looked forward to seeing the Dr., but now...I do now.

How far along?

15weeks 5days

Total weight gain?

7lb gained with a total of 128lbs. This was the peak of what I have ever weighed pre-baby bump.

Maternity clothes?

The weather is getting colder with a low of 21°, so I have been on the hunt for warmer clothes and a variety. My baby bump- still at that point where I look like I've eaten a few too many snacks. So wearing something form-fitting would show it off a little more. ;) In my next post, I will add some of my favorite maternity clothes tips and tricks. here

Stretch marks?

Nope! I have been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter Massage Lotionjust to be on the safe side. It also helps with that "pregnancy skin" to keep it nice and soft.

Sleep?

I have been trying to sleep on my left side as recommended, and it has caused some arm and back pain and cramping. I recommend Leachco Snoogle Total Body Pregnancy Support Pillow; it is a MUST. I did try one other brand of support pillow, and this was by far the best.- Getting back to how I have been sleeping, I still wake up every few hours or so to use the bathroom. My leg cramps are not as bad or as often. I do take naps from time to time due to never getting a full night's sleep and headaches.

Best moment this week?

Definitely -hearing our Baby Figs' heartbeat and setting up our next appointment to find out the sex (4 weeks from now). I always love going in and checking up on the little guy or girl.

Miss anything?

I miss wearing my old pre-pregnancy clothes. Also, my fabulous Jeffrey Campbell shoes have to go on the shelf; they are a little too high and wild for my lifestyle right now.

Movement?

No, and I guess we won't until about 18-20 weeks.

Food cravings?

I think I am back to the norm. But I am looking forward to Thanksgiving this week. This time I won't feel guilty for having seconds or even thirds, and most of all I won't have to undo my button on my pants.:)

Gender?

Not yet, but GREAT NEWS, we get to find out December 17th, 4 weeks from now!!!!!! I guess we will have to wait until week 19.

Labour signs?

Nope

Symptoms?

The number one symptom would be my migraines; they are pretty intense. They usually come in the evenings and last all night, or I'll have them right when I get up. They are right at my temples. I have sensitivity to bright light, some noise, and smells. It's rough because I can't do much about it besides lie down with my eyes shut with the blinds drawn in a dark room. I have been feeling more nauseous for longer periods at a time.

Belly button in or out?

Nope, it's the same. My stomach hasn't gotten much bigger this week, I don't think.

Happy or moody most of the time?

I am feeling antsy for the most part. Now that I have more energy and am in the mood to do stuff, it's hard to sit at home at times when friends are out. Or I want to look at gender base stuff for the little one, and I can't yet. We are also looking for houses, so it's a lot of waiting and not knowing. I am a little moody at points and frustrated, but for the most part, excited and happy! We told most of our friends and family it's so nice to see all of the reactions and to be completely open about our pregnancy now!

Looking forward to?

I know it's 4 weeks away, but I can't wait to find out if we are having a boy or girl, to see him/her on the ultrasound again. I love that, it makes me feel that much more connected. On a different level, I can't wait until Thanksgiving with all of the yummy food and to see family. I might just see a little growth on the baby bump area :).

Keep in touch for the upcoming post on fashion this week....

Now that I am all caught up on my posts, I am finding it therapeutic in a way. can't wait to look back and see what I've learned during this process. Especially now because time is going by so, so slowly. That being said, here's to another week and looking forward to fashion posts and other baby luvs.

Halloween DIY announcement

Coming up with our Announcement was such a treat. I had a vision of what I wanted to do, and it came out perfect!

My creative process ~I wanted a costume that symbolized something pure, beautiful, majestic; this came to me: the "mother nature" theme + the color palette of  Baby Fig, just the nature of the two of them really brings out how I was feeling at the moment. This is how I express myself in any costume I am creating that year. It is a way for me to express myself on the outside once a year.

Material:

 Crown

  • Silk leaves, mine already had gold paint on it.
  • Wire cutters.
  • Heavy rustic floral wire for the base, I had some left over from another project.
  • Hot glue and hot glue gun.

Makeup

  • Gold leaves.
  • Spray mount, this is what I had, but I would recommend another type of face adhesive.
  • (not shown) Gold and plum eye shadow.
  • (not shown) Eyelashes, I used purple.
  • I bought 3 types of gold dust for my hair and body-you can do as you please.

I found all of my materials from Hobby Lobby (a craft store). Be sure to check online for coupons; they usually have 40% coupons and sales every day.

Here's How

Crown

  1. Measure the crown with the rustic floral wire around your head.
  2. Cut random pieces of the silk leaves from the stem with wire cutters.
  3. Randomly place the silk leaves around the crown, and with the hot glue gun, glue in the center.

Makeup

  1. I put my base makeup on (my usual everyday). I used liquid eye liner on the tops of my eyes to make a winged look at the ends. To enhance my cheekbones, I used more bronzer than usual and a dash of plum with a blush brush.
  2. I applied false eyelashes; mine were purple.
  3. In stages, I applied adhesive to my brows as I stuck the gold dust to it, not allowing it to dry too quick. The gold dust comes in flakes, so tear it as you please.

ENJOY & CREATE!!

Happy Halloween!!!
